Even though Hong Kong is now part of China, the application process for a Hong Kong study visa is different from China. Students who wish to study in Hong Kong will need to apply for admission in Hong Kong. After the admission is confirmed the student will have to pay the fees to the institute and the institute will apply for the study visa for the student. In some cases, the student will not have to pay the fees in advance but instead will have to show proof of funding which includes bank statements. Hence, the student would not have to visit the Chinese Embassy and can travel with the e-visa. However, when the student arrives in Hong Kong, he or she would have to visit the immigration authorities to verify the documents.
Once you have understood the funding requirements of the institution you have applied to and complied with them, the application process is handled entirely in Hong Kong. However, make sure you travel with the documents that you need otherwise if immigration can’t verify them successfully you may be denied entry.
