Scholarship Loans Consulting

Studying abroad can be an expensive affair and although costs vary from institute to institute and country to country, many students seek some kind of financial aid to support their studies overseas. At any given university for the undergraduate level, you may land up with a bill of over $250,000 – at the end of four years. If you are thinking of pursuing an MBA from a top institute, you may land up paying $200,000 for a two-year program. To remedy this, there are institutes that offer need-based financial aid to international students and several independent organizations that provide merit-based scholarships and loans. Combination of need-based financial aid, scholarships and loans may in some cases, pay for your entire education abroad.

Before coming to KGC. I was extremely confused about the entire admission process. But after meeting with Karan Gupta, and the help of the KGC team, I was able to complete my admission process effortlessly. Karan Gupta shortlisted all the universities and the KGC team assisted me every step of the way from the essays to visa mock interviews. I got all the help I needed. The KGC counsellors are very knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to study abroad. They helped me so much with my applications that I got into an Ivy League school with a $54,000 scholarship.

I have helped several students get full funding to study abroad. Institutes around the world offer need-based financial aid, merit-based scholarships and/or graduate assistantships. The key to getting these financial aid awards is to apply early and of course apply to the 'right' institutes. International students applying to US institutes need to fill in the Foreign Student Financial Aid form (FSFA) while domestic students need to fill in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). I assist you in filling these forms and maximizing your chances of getting funding. I also advise you on various work-study options that can reduce your expenditure while studying abroad. We maintain an up-to-date list of institutions which grant funding to students who wish to study abroad. Don't let funding issues stop you from applying to your dream institute.

FAQs

As university applications have deadlines, scholarships have deadlines too. It is important to research the requirements and apply before the deadline and the earlier you apply, the more number of scholarships are available.

Students can apply for education loans after receiving the offer letter from universities. However, as the time duration is less between securing admission and payment of fees, there are banks that allow students to apply for educational loans even before securing admission.

We do not have tie-ups with any universities as it would hinder us from being independent and unbiased counsellors.

No, we cannot guarantee you scholarships. Your likelihood of getting a scholarship depends on the respective university, your profile and the amount of scholarship you have applied for.

The most common factor for achieving scholarship is your grades and standardized test scores. However universities also look over the internships, volunteering, project work, leadership activities or any other extra curricular activities that will help your case.

Yes, students with an excellent profile and top-most standardized test scores are capable of getting a 100% scholarship.

This depends on the scholarship you plan to apply for. Universities have many scholarships of their own which you can either apply to when you are applying for a course or you separately apply for later. If you are applying for a scholarship from a separate organization or your government, they generally have a different application process.

Need-based financial aid is for students who will not be able to afford their education and living expenses at the university and thus need financial aid.

Merit-based financial aid is for students who have an exceptional profile and good academic background.

If you don’t manage to get a scholarship, you have several other options open for you. You can apply for a loan or you can apply for a graduate assistantship. Assistantships come in the form of teaching and research assistantships and you are generally given monthly stipends to take care of your needs in exchange for working with the university faculty for a few hours every week.
