Universities in the US such as MIT and Stanford are the best for courses in Nanotechnology. GRE and TOEFL, are the exams generally required for admission to Master's programme in the US. For more information on these exams refer to the 'International Exams' section under 'Test Center' on www.educationtimes.comSome universities may ask you to take pre requisite classes before you can be admitted for the program mainly because of your current academic background. Every university has different requirements and hence you should check the pre requisite course requirement with each university that you plan to apply to. For the application procedure, shortlist the universities you plan to apply to, complete the online application forms and then mail the supporting documents such as resume, recommendation letters, SOP, mark sheets and transcripts to the universities. Please remember to check with each university for their individual requirements. You should send your application at least one year prior to the proposed year of study.

Dear Sir, I completed my graduation in 2001 in Biochemistry. I wanted to pursue a MSc in Biochemistry, but didn't get admission at the time owing to limited seats. So, I'd like to know if I intend pursuing a MSc in Biochemistry or Microbiology in US orCanada. What are the criteria that I would need to fulfill inorder to seek admission? Also, kindly let me know of Universities in theUS andCanada that fund foreign students. I would also like to know if a student is a potential immigrant to any of these two countries are there chances of a student getting a scholarship or funds for the degree funded by the university? Kindly also let me know what is the age limit for one to pursue a MSc abroad.

George Washington university, Johns Hopkins University and Temple University in the US offer courses in Biochemistry. Study the course offered to check whether it suits your requirement. There is no specific age limit to apply for a Masters programme. In most cases you will need 16 years of undergraduate education in order to apply (for a Master’s program) to universities in the US. You need to also appear for GRE and TOEFL for admission to a Master’s programme in the US. A score of 1300 and above (out of 1600) is a good score in GRE and a score of 100 is a good score in TOEFL. For more information on these exams refer to the 'International Exams' section under 'Test Center' on www.educationtimes.com For the application procedure, shortlist the universities you plan to apply to, complete the online application forms and then mail the supporting documents (such as resume, recommendation letters, essays, mark sheets, transcripts and degree) to the universities. International graduate students are usually not eligible for financial aid. However funding in the form of graduate assistantships (GA), scholarship, tuition waivers or loans are available are available for most programmes. It is best to contact each university individually to know more about the scholarships offered.

I am a 11 class student and want to pursue pure science course in physics from a top U.S. university as MIT,Princeton. What are the requirements for admission.Do I need to take the SAT test and is there any financial assistance available.

For admissions to US universities you will need to appear for the SAT I, SAT II (for most top ranked schools) and TOEFL. For more information on these exams refer to the 'International Exams' section under 'Test Center' on www.educationtimes.comUndergraduate students are eligible for financial aid in a few private US universities. The Foreign Student Financial Aid form (FSFA) is the most commonly used form by private US universities. This form can be obtained from the college that you plan to apply to. Universities will provide financial aid based on this form and hence it is imperative that you fill in this form correctly. US universities also may offer various scholarships to undergraduate students.

I would like to get aware of the international  universities through which I can complete my graduation by sending the papers through india itself or any indian unversity which offers such type of coureses.I have completed my diploma in engineer (electronics) & would like to do graduation from same feild but from any unversity in india or abroad with some less years with placement granty.plz do inform me about such unversity from india or abroad.thanks.

A diploma course after the 10th grade is generally equivalent to high school (12th grade) and in some cases it is equivalent to even the 13th grade. Hence you can consider applying for a Bachelor’s programme in Electrical Engineering. In theUS students have the option of gaining international work experience through OPT (Optional Practical Training) where they are allowed to now work for 1 year in their field of study after completion of their course. Students with degrees in science, technology, engineering or mathematics can now work for an extended period of 29 months under OPT after completing their education. Remember no university will guarantee a job after you graduate.PolytechnicUniversity (NYU) andUniversity ofSouthern California in theUS offer courses in Electrical Engineering. Study the course structure to check whether it suits your requirements.

Sir,i would be gladif you tell me as to where i should go abroad for mass communication and journalism;also what all scholarships they give...

Universities in the US offer flexibility in the course structure, and thus the US is the favoured destination for most students. Funding in the form of graduate assistantships (GA), scholarship, tuition waivers or loans are available are available for most programmes. Universities consider various factors while granting scholarships such as your past academic record, standardized test scores, essays and so on. Check with individual university for their scholarships offered. Study the courses offered by University of Illinois at Urbana Champagne and Boston University in the US to get an idea of the subjects offered as well as if they fit your requirements. If you have the required finances and your family supports your decision, this would definitely be a great opportunity to gain international exposure as well.

Always opt for an MBA after you have at least 2 or 3 years of full time work experience. Since you will complete your graduation and will have no full time work experience, you are better off pursuing a Master’s degree program in the field of your choice abroad. You need 16 years of undergraduate education in order to apply (for a Master’s program) to universities in the US, along with the GRE and TOEFL scores. For more information on these exams refer to the 'International Exams' section under 'Test Center' on www.educationtimes.comBiotechnology is a booming field with good job prospects. University of Pennsylvania and John Hopkins University are some of the universities that offer an MS in Biotechnology. Study the course structure to see whether it suits your requirements. It is always better to have a first class throughout your academic career. At the same time universities do not consider only one factor while granting admission. They consider various factors such as your past academic record, standardized test scores, essays and so on. The average tuition fees at US universities are about $35000 per year and average living expenses are about $10000 per year. Remember fees will vary from university to university.

Dear Sir/Madam I have been accepted to theUniversity of Wisconsin,Madison for the program in materials science and engineering. I am worried about funding. Will I be able to work and support myself?

Each university may offer various forms of scholarships to international students. Students are allowed to work for 20 hours per week on campus while studying. Your on campus jobs may be enough to cover your living expenses but not your tuition fees. You can even consider applying for an education loan from a state bank. The maximum loan is around Rs.20 lacs and the interest rates are around 11-13% with a repayment period of around 8 years after you complete the course. Generally security of around 100-150% is needed as collateral for this loan.

sir, i am in 3rd yr of Biomedical Engg.I am planning to do M.S. in Biomedical .After that i want to do M.S. in kinesiology. Is this fine? Can you pl suggest me some universities for the same. Also can you pl guide me about the scope of biomechanics(rehabilitaion-cardiovascular &/or orthopaedics) in India & in USA

Study the Master’s course in Kinesiology offered at Temple University and the University of Maryland in the US. Universities do not consider only one factor while granting scholarships. They consider various factors such as your past academic record, standardized test scores, essays and so on. Some universities may ask you to take pre requisite classes before you can be admitted because of your current academic background. Every university has different requirements and hence you should check the pre requisite course requirement with each university that you plan to apply to. The website www.westone.wa.gov.au states, “ Biomechanists can specialize in a particular sport but I deal with all sports. One of the big perks of the job is that you get to travel a lot with the athletes to collect data on their performances at competitions. Self-employment opportunities do exist provided you are very motivated to pursue them. The down side is that you must have a lot of contacts to make a living out of it and it’s hard to do it straight after university. Unfortunately there aren’t many job opportunities for Biomechanics overseas.”

Hello Sir, I am pursuing my third year diploma enginerring in Computer Technology from VES Polytechnic, Mumbai.I am planning to give TOEFL and SAT this year, and wish to go abroad for my enginerring after my final year. I would like to know about the lateral entry procedure for under graduate courses in the US and what are the other mandatory tests apart from TOEFL and SAT? Is the MSBTE 3 year diploma course affilated world-wide and am I eligible to get admitted to the third semester?

Transferring credits is a tricky process and depends from university to university. However, it is likely that you will be able to get at least one semester waived off in the four year course at a US university. Short list the universities that you plan to apply to, complete the online application forms and then mail the supporting documents such as resume, recommendation letters, SOP, mark sheets
& transcripts to the university. The SAT and TOEFL are required by most US universities, but it is best to check with each university for their individual and/or additional test requirements. It is best to send your applications at least one year prior to your proposed year of study. Visit the International Exams section under Test Center at www.educationtimes.com to learn more about the SAT and the TOEFL.
