The simple formula (CGPA ÷ 10 × 4) gives a mathematical conversion, but WES uses institution-specific grade tables. WES accounts for the actual grading norms at your university — for example, scoring 8.5+ at IIT is much harder than at many other institutions, so WES may assign a higher GPA.
